Do The Town
Tomales is a
destination in and of itself. Born in the 1860's, this little town
has somehow not kept pace with the surrounding area --that's the
beauty of it, and there is much to discover!
Mark your
calendar and plan to attend the local
Founder's Day
festival the Sunday before Labor Day each year.
Jeanette (Le Grue) opens her studio to the public for the day, and
there
is a parade at noon, barbeque, live music, etc. It's a hoot! |

Dillon
Beach
Just 4.5 miles west of Tomales is one of California's only
privately owned beaches. There is a parking and access fee unless
you are staying at one of the many vacation rentals or the
campground. Lawson's Landing has a large marina resort with RV
parking & overnight beach rentals, and is the center of fishing,
crabbing, clam digging, rock fishing activities for both inside
and out of Tomales Bay. Vacation homes on hillsides overlook the
beautiful coastline, with big beautiful beaches in a rural
setting.
A great spot for a
picnic, a stroll on the beach...for a day, a weekend, or a week!
